Chris Zimmerman, Chairperson
Chris Zimmerman is an Associate Director of Performance Improvement at CrossCountry Consulting, a management consulting company based in Washington, DC. Chris has over a decade of experience working with business leaders to improve their organizations through the design and adoption of new processes, technologies, and organizational structures to appropriately align the operating model of a company to overall business strategy across a multitude of industries.
Earning a B.S. from the University of Notre Dame, Chris also has an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, with a concentration in Strategy and Finance. Chris is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honors society for business excellence. Chris lives in the Dupont Circle neighborhood in Washington, DC and spends his time devoted to numerous educational and environmental organizations.
Jawauna M. Greene
Ms. Jawauna M. Greene is the Director of Advertising and Marketing for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro). At Metro, Ms. Greene provides executive management over public transit advertising sales, ridership promotional campaigns, business partnerships and the overall marketing for customer outreach and various transportation products and services for the Greater Washington Capitol Region serving millions of annual transit riders.
Prior to joining WMATA, Ms. Greene served as the Director Communications and Marketing for the Maryland Transit Administration and a legislative liaison for Maryland Port Administration. Prior to her work in the transportation industry, Ms. Greene worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency managing communications and governmental relations where she earned a 2008 EPA Bronze Medal award. Ms. Greene has also had the pleasure of serving as a congressional staffer for the Honorable Elijah E. Cummings, of Maryland’s 7th Congressional District.
Ms. Greene actively volunteers for both civic and professional organizations throughout the region. Most recently, she received the 2014 DC Uptown Professional Magazine’s Catalyst Award. She is also the recipient of the 2014 and 2012 AdWheel Awards for Transit Marketing, 2010 Living Women’s History Makers Community Award from the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs; a 2010 community volunteer award the Baltimore City Department of Parks and Recreation John Eager Howard Center and a 2010 Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Parent Volunteer Award. Ms. Greene holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Hood College.
Dana Baughns serves as Assistant General Counsel at Allegis Group, Inc., the largest privately held staffing company in the United States. Ms. Baughns also serves as General Counsel and Secretary to MarketSource, Inc., an Allegis Operating Company specializing in outsourced, integrated sales and marketing solutions to more than 200 companies worldwide. Ms. Baughns collaborates with senior level executives, business partners and managers to deliver best employment law practices and strategic solutions to meet business objectives across the Allegis corporate footprint. She has extensive experience counseling employers on a variety of labor and federal employment law issues, and has a broad range of experience litigating and defending federal employment law claims and negotiating collective bargaining and commercial agreements.
Prior to working with Allegis Group, Ms. Baughns was Assistant General Counsel with Sodexo, a provider of various onsite facility services. Ms. Baughns was also a Senior Associate with two Connecticut based law firms, where she represented employers across several business verticals, in labor relations and all stages of employment and business tort litigation before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, mediators and arbitrators. She also served as a Legislative Aide and Subcommittee Chief Clerk for the Honorable Senator Christopher J. Dodd. Ms. Baughns lived abroad in Frankfurt, Germany for two years where she became proficient in German and performed contract work for the European Central Bank, as a Freelance Legal English Editor.
Ms. Baughns attended Howard University in Washington, DC where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and later received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut. Ms. Baughns is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut, Federal District of Connecticut, and Southern and Eastern District Courts of New York.
Ms. Baughns currently serves as a member of the Equal Employment Advisory Council (“EEAC”) Executive Board and Board of Directors. She was also recently elected to serve as a founding director for the Children’s Guild Ltd. DC Public Charter School. She currently lives in Washington DC with her husband Jules Baughns and their two children Jared (age 9) and Ava (age 7).
John Ferguson, PHR
John Ferguson is the Director, Human Resources for Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which owns and operates the Washington Capitals (NHL), Washington Wizards (NBA), Washington Mystics (WNBA) and Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. John started his career in Human Resources working for Hyatt Hotels. Originally from Mauldin, South Carolina, John has his Bachelor of Arts from Furman University.
