On Friday, April 29th we hosted an event called “SheTea” for the young ladies and an event called “Boys to Men” for young men. The girls participated in a morning tea event with teachers and parents alike, where they learned about diversity and respect through the use proper manners, language, and tone. The young ladies got to enjoy being dressed up for a lovely morning tea. In the afternoon, we transitioned to a Girls Rock theme where the girls participated in lots of hands-on experiential learning activities including DIY lip gloss, hand soap and body spray workshops.
The young men were taken off campus to also learn about diversity and respect as they grow up. They learned about the impact proper manners, language and tone can have on not only showing respect but also earning respect. They came together as brothers to celebrate diversity through structured play. After a morning of learning, the boys got to enjoy sports like soccer, track and field, and hockey.
A good time was had by all!
