The Children’s Guild DC Public Charter School hosted a Career Day on Friday, January 26th from 1:30pm to 3:10pm for all of its students grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. The purpose of the event was to expose the students to various career paths by bringing in 10 career professionals to discuss their professions.
The ten career professionals included a nurse, two nurse anesthesiologists, a NASA engineer, a fashion photographer, a makeup artist for NBC, a personal trainer, a DC police officer, a representative from The Princeton Review, and an executive director for a program that facilitates peace circles.
The students chose at least three career professionals to speak with and asked questions to determine if any of the career professions piqued their interest.
The kids had such a great time trying on different career hats for the day that we are looking forward to hosting another Career Day in the future.
