The Children’s Guild DC Open House Dates – ADDED for SUMMER!
Prospective parents and students are invited to attend open houses to learn about the school, meet the educators, and ask questions:
August 20, Thursday 5:30 to 7:30
August 22, Saturday 10:30 to 12:30
The Children’s Guild District of Columbia Public Charter School will serve all students including the accelerated learner, the struggling learner and students with special education needs, tailoring instruction to the needs of the student. All students residing in the District of Columbia are eligible to apply. The District of Columbia Public Charter School will serve 450 children and be located in Ward 5 in Northeast Washington.
The Children’s Guild is a nonprofit organization with a 60-year track record of educating children. The organization operates five schools in Maryland, including two special-education schools, two charter schools and one contract school. The Children’s Guild uses the philosophy of Transformation Education, a student-centered approach to teaching and learning based on the belief that school culture is one of the most powerful teaching tools available in education today.
The charter school will offer an enriched physical environment combined with hands-on project-based learning, character development, arts integration, information and communication technology and a student support center.

September of 2015, The Children’s Guild DC Public Charter School will open its doors in to 450 scholars.
